Please give us a short summary of your website?
Ours is a comprehensive site aimed to cover all aspects related to Asian vacations. We intend to provide our users with information they can depend upon. Various factors related to tourism in Asian countries have been covered under the sections like Holidays, Activities, Travel Tips, Islands, Hill Resorts, City Guide, Province Guide and so on. A unique aspect of the site is the transport section offering users information regarding travel between major tourist destinations of the country.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have always been fond of traveling. When I used to surf the net for information, I found that most of them just pretended to provide relevant information, while actually, they just copied matter from one another. So it just came to my mind to make a comprehensive site which would unique, original and dependable information to the net users.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first was KnowledgeHerald.com which I launched in February 2008 in collaboration with a friend.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I wanted a name which would instantly convey the desired message to the user, and at the same time, it should be easy to remember and SEO friendly as well. So I concluded on this name after a lot of research.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We offer dependable information and services. We intend to make overall user experience a soothing and informative one.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I wish to develop it as the best travel portal on Asian travel and tourism. I want to make YourAsianVacations.com a brand.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
My site is slowly and steadily climbing the search engine charts. I am hopeful that in a few months, it would be easily visible on the net. My time and money invested would bear fruits then.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
If I had that, I would have made the site more eye-soothing and interactive.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Of course.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Things do not always go as thought. I had to change my Host right at the time of launching. The designers demanded more than what I had expected. And similar such things.

To make a good site in limited budget
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Right mix of onsite and offsite promotion
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is more or less as I expected. However, I would have liked to add lot more content to it than it currently has. Running a site effectively is never an easy task.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It is almost six months. My project is very dear to me and I am very sure that it will hit popularity. No matter what happens I will keep on working on it with passion.
What do you plan in the coming months for your Site?
We would be adding India section in late March. We would continuously expand the information offered and target to include even the smallest topic in any country. We would aim to make the navigation more user friendly and introduce interactive features in it.
