SwiftWorks is a leader in non-voice services particularly post-production or entertainment transcription, offline captioning,and subtitling. To date, we have done post-production transcription for a number of Hollywood movies and TV shows. SwiftWorks also offers medical transcription and custom software.~~ What inspired you to launch your own website? The corporation saw a need for quality non-voice services and eventually we moved to post-production or entertainment transcription. We have done a lot of A movies. Some movies haven't even come out yet in theaters. It is an exciting industry to be in. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? SwiftWorks company launched the same time as its website, in 2006. How did you decide on a name for your website? The name has evolved. The company, SwiftMed, first started in medical transcription. Eventually, the company saw a need for other transcription services and re-named the company SwiftWorks. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? We are one of the few, if not, the only company in the Philippines that offers post-production transcription. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) To provide a lot of jobs for our fellow Filipinos. How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? The BPO industry is an extremely competitive one. There are many ups and downs in the business cycle. One month there is an overflow of work and the next month there is no work at all. I think success is to be able to provide quality service at a great price to clients, providing good jobs and making a profit. This is a lot harder than it sounds because we have no control over the work flow. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? We would be able to give more focus on developing new transcription products, not just for the entertainment industry, but for the business industry as well. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? Definitely. The talent pool of the Philippines is practically endless. There are thousands upon thousands of young graduates every year. What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? Fluctuation of work and manpower. What has been your biggest challenge? Fluctuation of work and manpower. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Our business is not really web based. Our business is very much a personal one. We touch base with clients regularly. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? The site has been up for almost 4 years now. It will continue to be up but the site is basically used as an online calling card as we really prefer to touch base with clients via phone calls and email. What is your website address? SwiftWorks |
