Barcelona-1.com was created to explain the difference between simply having "web design" and bring it up a few levels to create a business asset with "Internet Marketing".~~ What inspired you to launch your own website? I have been assisting businesses in Florida, USA for 11 years. I have recently moved to Barcelona and I can help it, (I want to provide my knowledge) and help those whu want to be helped with Internet Marketing. When did you launch your first website, and what was it? The first site was about Dolphins about 12 years ago, then another business wanted one, and another and another... created a business by mistake I guess! How did you decide on a name for your website? This is where I live now... so it needed to reflect the area I want to help. What makes your website different from other, similar offerings? Hands on old school approach, the raging technology boom has left so many of the business people behind who don't have time to study and monitor the daily changes online. What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?) Keep it for a future income, unless someone offers crazy money for the domain name (I have a back-up... bcn-1.com) lol How does your investment of time and money balance against your success? The site is only 4 weeks old right now and the traffic grows daily and I am currently woorking two jobs from it and have another bid out. If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site? To simply educate business owners on all the online marketing rules and what it takes to compete in the global economy we now live in. If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand? No... has already happened with two Florida companies... BeNumberOne.com and GreenPagesFlorida.com... just have to hire fresh people and train them the correct way to givee the most value to the business owner. What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with? None at this point... What has been your biggest challenge? Translations of the english site to Spanish and Catalan for google.es, and so far doing fairly well. What method has been most successful for promoting your website? Optimize, optimize, optimize... How has running your website differed from your expectations? Only in the fact that rankings happen a little quicker here so you can make adjustments as needed. How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity? The site is rather new, just started publishing to it about 4 to 5 weeks ago. Is this a needed service in Barcelona? Si... by all means, Barcelona business people are still hooked on simply contracting Web Design (which is important), but someone needs to help them get the visitors to that web design...
