Magnetic Therapy Living Interview

By Interviewer at 11/01/09 19:24

Georgia, Alternative Health: This is who I am Name of your website?

Magnetic Therapy Living

Your name?

Channary Houle

Your Location (city, etc)

Mableton

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This site is an informative guide about the usage of magnetic therapy. It discusses how it works, how to use it and how to incorporate it into your lifestyle. This site is also a helpful site for tips on relieving neck and shoulder pain and how to get better sleep.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I inspired to launch my own site because I found something that I was passionate about: pain relief and magnetic therapy. As a massage therapist I ended up sharing lots of tips with my clients but found that I had to write these down. The web because the best place to send clients for tips on pain relief. Through my own experience with severe pain, I came across magnetic therapy and found significant relief. I did not understand why it was not discussed about by my colleagues and doctors, so I did my own research and created this site.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched this site in November of 2008 and it is called Magnetic Therapy Living.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

While researching magnetic therapy I found that you can use it in almost every aspect of your life to help you wherever you are. Thus I named the site Magnetic Therapy Living. It's not about living with magnets but living healthier using therapeutic magnets as an aid.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My site is different because it is from my perspective as a massage therapist. It incorporates my research and my knowledge of alternative health and pain management. It is also a comprehensive site which means that I have tried to make this site a one stop shop for magnetic therapy. It is not a sales page but provides information and research about magnetic therapy to help any consumer looking for an alternative therapy to what they are currently using.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My eventual goal for this site is to grow to have a massive following and also to provide me passive income.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

My traffic is growing enormously as I have invested much time into this site. It is still in its infancy stages but I believe that over time my "job" in developing it will slowly wean to a trickle and it will grow on its own. Money wise, it is not there as of yet, but that comes later.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire develops to do all the technical issues so I can concentrate on my writing and research.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes and I would definitely enjoy it!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

I have not had any unexpected costs but I had to deal with a learning curve concerning css, html, e-zines, and I still don't quite understand RSS feeds yet but I am slowly getting there. I also had to deal with the development of carpal tunnel (which I've been treating with massage and magnetic therapy).

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been learning how to promote the site.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Google is my best friend. So far my traffic is jumping whenever I write great content about much searched for keywords.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't. I knew this was going to be fun, interesting, and frustrating.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site launched in November 2008 and I plan on keeping it as long as it will last.

What makes you an expert in your field?

I consider myself an expert because of all the studying and research and personal experiences I have with pain management. I tried many things. Some worked other didn't. I tried magnetic therapy and it worked on my body. When I had my own massage practice, I used magnetic therapy on my clients and seen an enormous effect on how fast it helps the muscle relax and increase their blood flow. Most of my clients ended up sleeping during their massage (especially those that talked a lot). I also noticed that if I didn't have enough time to work on a specific painful part I would use my magnet on it. I would tell them I'm placing a therapeutic magnet near them and nothing more. During the follow up call my client would tell me how much better they feel in that area that I did not get to work on.

I want Channary To know that this interview showed up on my daily Google search for magnetic therapy. I plan to fallow her lead. We are in the same mentoring group and our sites are complementary to each other.
