Star Trek DVDs is a price comparison website for UK trekkies, comparing and sourcing the best online deals for all Star Trek Series and Movies.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Always been a Star Trek Fan and wanted a one stop place that researched the cheapest places to buy Star Trek DVDs from the many online retailers offering them for sale.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was a hotel travel site called www.cheaphotelchains.co.uk
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I found the domain that perfectly reflects what the website offers!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Star Trek DVDs is the only online comparison website for the purchase of star trek dvds for the UK market.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To grow the website out and offer fan reviews/recommendations on individual dvds.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It gets better as time goes on.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would develop our own voucher codes for the DVD purchases and deal direct with the end agents on this.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Not on my own, but I do have hekp if needed!
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The hardest part of a comparison website is embedding the data streams from the various merchants.

Article marketing makes a big difference.

I now know how much effort goes into a web business
